Well last week was definitely weird! It's been exactly one week since there was a shooter on Texas campus. I couldn't be more thankful that the shooter on campus didn't hurt anyone besides himself, but it is still a very unnerving situation.
I must admit, I'm very impressed with the actions that UT and the City of Austin took to ensure the safety of the students, faculty and staff once it was confirmed that there was in fact a man shooting. However, it does seem so weird that they never discovered a second shooter. Furthermore, what seemed even stranger was how fast everything went back to normal on Wednesday! I walked all the way across campus to the stadium on Wednesday morning, and I never saw any type of higher-security or anything of the sort? I just figured that with the possibility of a second shooter, there would have been more of a presence to deter anyone else remotely considering "carrying out" what started on Tuesday...Oh well, glad we're safe. Still can't believe my teacher let us leave our classroom after we found out there was a shooter on campus. Given I'm thankful he let us go since I don't have any service in that classroom, it seemed a bit unsafe to unleash about 200 kids.
Still shocked it's already October. Loving this weather though! Please cool off faster! I love fall and really wish Austin had more than 10 days of good/tolerable weather!!

Introduction to the lovely Past House
Not quite sure how this blogging business goes, but I think it could be fun? I'll be blogging about the funny stories, breakups, shacking experiences, excitements and all-around fun encountered here at Past House--8 silly girls living together for the year. I'll be sure to keep anything and everything anonymous (either initials or alter-ego names), for the sake of the roommates and myself. In a way I guess I'm channeling my inner gossip girl! (ironic since I'm about to watch this week's episode...) Now, with this being said, I think it's necessary to say that we're all very responsible, intelligent young ladies who have high expectations of ourselves and each other. Furthermore, I'm not sure if my professors will be reading this, but I just want to go ahead and state the facts that I am far from a crazy party-girl. Instead I just want to show my sense of humor and that of my friends! Most of the stories that could find their way onto "Past House Blog" are clean-sober fun. While I call this "Past House Blog," that's what I'm covering right now, but who knows where I'll end up going with this online diary throughout the next few months. We'll just have to wait and seeeee!
I don't have anything to report on really regarding the PH ladies since I was out of town this weekend and couldn't go out all of last week because of school---so not fun. I am confident that there will be some silliness and funny stories thanks to Texas/OU weekend coming up and someone's birthday.

Favorite movie EVER growing up. I couldn't be more upset that Grannie Rose has passed away! She was SO SO SO precious!
